Polyploidy in sea urchins
15/06/08 13:39
One thing I remember from
my zoology student days is that nicotine causes
polyploidy in sea urchins...a useful interjection if
you can’t think of anything to say at a dinner party.
It means that they end up with more copies of
chromosomes in their cells than they are supposed to
have. What I don’t get, and call me thick, is how do
they light up their cigarettes in the first
place????

How to x-ray a turtle (or tortoise)
09/06/08 15:50
If you want to x-ray a
turtle (or tortoise) (go and look up the difference)
(then tell me), if it isn’t a very big turtle (or
tortoise), put it on top of a glass which you’ve turned
upside down. The glass doesn’t show up on x-ray and the
turtle (or tortoise) can’t move. Useful tip.
